Privacy Notice

Last updated: 18 October 2026. This notice covers the Honestly early-access website and launch waitlist. The dating app will have its own privacy information before it launches.

Who looks after your information

Honestly is operated by Firebox Creative Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 09207352), with its registered office at 11 Watson Place, London, SE25 5EX. Firebox Creative Limited is the controller of your personal information. Contact us at support@honestly.date.

What we collect and why

When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address, chosen launch city, signup date, and a record of the consent wording and your confirmation that you are 18 or over. We use these details to manage the waitlist and email you about Honestly’s launch and early access in Manchester and London. We do not ask for your name, date of birth, photos, gender, sexual orientation, or dating preferences at this stage.

Our lawful basis for the waitlist and launch emails is your consent. Joining the list is optional, and you can withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that happened before you withdrew it.

Website security

Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes technical information such as IP addresses and request information to deliver and protect the website. We rely on our legitimate interests in providing a secure, reliable website for this processing. We do not add IP addresses to your waitlist record.

Where your information goes

We use Vercel to host the website and store waitlist records in private storage configured in London. Only authorised people working on Honestly and service providers acting on our instructions can access the records. Hosting support and technical processing may involve access from outside the UK. Where required, we rely on recognised adequacy decisions or appropriate contractual safeguards for international transfers. Contact us for details of the applicable safeguards.

We do not sell your information or share your waitlist details with other businesses for their own marketing. We may disclose information where required by law. If we introduce another provider to send launch emails, we will update this notice before using it.

How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist details while we prepare and communicate the launch. We review the list at least every 12 months and remove information that is no longer needed. If you withdraw consent, we remove you from the launch list; we may keep a minimal suppression or consent record where needed to honour your choice or establish compliance. Joining the waitlist does not automatically create an app account.

Your choices and rights

To leave the waitlist, withdraw consent, correct your details, or request deletion, email support@honestly.date from the address you registered with. Any launch email we send will also explain how to unsubscribe.

Depending on the circumstances, you have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or receive a portable copy of your information, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Please contact us if you have a concern.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not use advertising trackers or optional analytics cookies. Our hosting provider may use essential security technologies to protect the service. We will explain any future optional tracking and request consent where required.

Age and updates

The waitlist is for people aged 18 or over. If you believe a child has registered, contact us so we can remove their information. We will update this notice if our use of information changes, and seek fresh consent where needed.
